Beautiful Belle’s Wedding Fairs

May 11, 2016 | News

I first heard about Belles Events wedding fairs in 2010. I found out that owner/founder Kelly Wickson lived round the corner from me in Shoreham by Sea. We arranged to meet for a festive glass of wine and the rest is history. Kelly and I have a lot in common; a love for vintage/retro/quirky style, a keen interest in weddings and events and brains that don’t really switch off! We’re both Capricorn, our birthdays are two days apart, maybe that’s got something to do with it… Anyway, I exhibited at Belles Events first fair and the working relationship went…

Doily Days is for sale!

April 23, 2016 | News

Where do I even start with this blog post? If you’d said to me this time last year I’d be preparing to sell Doily Days I wouldn’t have believed you. I started the business in 2009 and since then it really has been an extension of myself. But SO much can change in a year. This time last year I was living alone in Chichester in a fully styled vintage apartment. I spent my time quaffing fizz and cocktails, social networking my arse off, dressing up for parties, and the business was basically my life… and then I fell pregnant….

More Tea Vicar?

April 21, 2016 | News

As a lover of tea, pretty china, flowers, pearls, Alice in Wonderland and hats, it made absolute and perfect sense for Sam from Rosadior to create a collection of fascinators that incorporated all of the above! Whilst Sam searched online for teacups she came across an original Barbie children’s tea set and Barbie Champagne flutes. So nostalgic and kitsch, she just had to have them. She had so much fun making these special edition headpieces; filling them with flowers and pearls and mounting them on satin headbands. They are super lightweight, easy to wear and such pretty colours! Perfect for vintage events…

Southend Barns

April 3, 2016 | News

Set on a working farm in the stunning West Sussex countryside, Southend Barns Wedding Venue was opened in early 2012 by Mariella and William Fleming. The farm buildings were originally used to house the cows when the farm operated as a dairy business. However, the buildings and beautiful landscaped gardens have since been converted and have quickly become the wedding venue of choice for couples that come from far and wide. The lovingly restored barn complex features a magnificent 200-year-old Threshing Barn, which radiates rustic charm with authentic wooden beams and iron wrought chandeliers. DIY Details

March 31, 2016 | News

By Rosie Watson, Roses All Over www.rosesallover.co.uk As a supplier in the wedding industry I’m used to spending time looking after the details of other people’s big days so when it came to organising my own wedding I already had some pretty firm ideas on what I wanted it to look like. I’m not a naturally ‘crafty’ person so the thought of hand-sewing lavender bags for 80 guests only for them to languish in a sock drawer gathering dust or, gulp – even worse – be LEFT BEHIND ON THE TABLES filled me with dread. They say the devil is…

Lisa’s Frocks

March 30, 2016 | News

I came across Lisa Sheridan at a Belles Events wedding fair in 2013. I was blown away by the rail of beautiful dresses before me. All vintage inspired, different fabrics – from polka dots to florals – and all different styles. Of course this was just to showcase her collection but I say hey, put your bridesmaids in mismatching florals… or choose a fabric and have different styles to suit each girl. Lisa is a trained ladies wear designer and even while studying she was designing dresses inspired by 1930s lingerie. Lisa previously designed lingerie and swimwear for M&S where…
