Home Sweet Home

March 4, 2015 | News

A homely home has always been important to me, from my bedroom when I was growing up, to my university digs and now my proper grown up flat… well, it’s probably smaller than my university digs to be honest but it’s mine, all mine 🙂 For me, it’s important to have bits and pieces around the home that mean something to you. I have old family photos, postcards my sister and I sent to my grandparents when we were kids, fridge magnets with meaningful sayings, pictures of my friends and vintage kitchenware I’ve picked up at car boot sales My…

Passion for your Product

February 19, 2015 | News

When I started Doily Days way back in 2009 it was after a lot of soul searching. I wasn’t happy in the jobs I was doing and really wanted something to satisfy my creative side and fully embrace my passion for vintage styling (this was before vintage went CRAZY and took over everything). I just loved how things ‘looked’… especially vintage/country/cosy things. I used to pore over images in magazines and on blogs. I just didn’t know how to get into this world and I was frustrated. It’s crazy to think that six years later I have my own magazine,…

A Happy Weekend in Margate

February 18, 2015 | News

I’ve just spent a lovely Valentines weekend on the Kent coast. After a long and painful drive we checked into our room at The Salutation in Sandwich… yes, that’s right, Steph & Dom’s B&B (if you’re a fan of Gogglebox you’ll know what I’m talking about, if not you’ll have no idea). It’s a beautiful mansion house with landscape gardens. We were very well looked after by the staff and after Eggs Benedict in the morning (and the obligatory posing on the sofa) we hit the road and made the short drive to Margate. I’d heard mixed reviews about Margate…

Ho Ho Ho It’s CHRISTMAS..!

December 18, 2014 | News

Well hello there. I’m so sorry I’ve neglected my website news writing duties. I’ve been somewhat busy this year; buying, selling and renovating properties (well, making myself scarce while the builders work!). I’ve lived in five different places (including a static caravan) but am now firmly ensconced in my small (teeny tiny) new flat in Chichester and am about ready to enjoy the festivities. I have the small issue of my 35th birthday to contend with first though. My birthday is on Tuesday 23rd December (my address is available upon request if you’d like to send a card) and, if…

Party plans a go go

February 5, 2014 | News

Issue 3 is imminent! We’re so very close, just a few last minute finishing touches and it’s off to the printers. It will be out at the beginning of March and we’re having a big party to celebrate on 6th March at The Funfair Club in Brighton. We love mingling with like minded folk…. and we love cocktails and Champagne so we’re VERY excited! I’m even having a dress especially made for me by Lisa Sheridan. We’ve ordered vintage fabric for new York – ooo er (the large print fabric with big green flowers)! The party is a joint party…

Consultations at Doily Days HQ

June 23, 2013 | News

At the beginning of May Doily Days moved into premises on Church Road in Hove. It’s an office without being too ‘officy’ if you know what I mean. It’s a lovely light room, a place to work from that isn’t my kitchen table…. there’s a gorgeous feature fireplace in the room and we’ve adorned the walls with pictures – an old ‘Wish You Were Here’ film poster, a blown up cover image of issue 1, some framed press coverage and a gallery of images from our events. We have two VERY comfortable Parker Knoll wingbacks, a variety of mugs, a…

New Wedding Suppliers Networking Event! Starts 16th May

May 1, 2013 | News

Helen (Doily Days) and Kelly from Belles Events have formed a strong working relationship over the last couple of years. They know lots of Sussex based wedding suppliers and are constantly meeting new people who’d like to exhibit at Belles Events wedding fairs or advertise in Doily Days Loves Weddings magazine. They hold two informal networking events a year at Hotel Pelirocco and have recently decided to introduce a more formal networking event ‘The Wedding Breakfast’. It’s a structured (speed) networking event designed to help wedding suppliers connect and find solutions to any business areas they might be struggling with. The first Wedding Breakfast is planned for Thursday…
