Lisa Pascoe – On Love

Lisa Pascoe is a qualified NLP Master Practitioner with over five years’ experience, and is the host of Bravehearts Rising, a podcast for deep feelers, dreamers and empaths. As Lisa prepares to marry Bekky (very soon!) we asked her to contribute a piece on LOVE. Over to Lisa… While I loved the Little Mermaid as a child, I never grew up wanting the fairy tale romance. I didn’t dream of a big wedding and never wanted to be rescued. What I did crave, however, was marriage, Marks and Spencers and a mortgage. It sounds funny now but as an only…

Supplier Spotlight – Confetti Coast Photography

One of my favourite things about my job is getting to know passionate small business owners and finding out their story. i.e. what led them to the wedding industry… It’s not always straight forward! For Kaz from Confetti Coast Photography, her journey into the wedding industry came through being made redundant from her IT job as Quality Manager, where there was no creative outlet. She and her husband Vince bought a clapped out VW splitscreen campervan (Sleepy Jean) from Oregon, which they had restored, and they started Vinnie’s Vintage Vehicles in 2013. “VWs hold my heart and fulfil my passion…

Boat Shed Bride-to-Be!

Today we hear from popular singer Miss Amy Baker as she and fiance Sam prepare to tie the knot at The Boat Shed… over to Amy: Sam surprised me with a trip to London. I had no idea where we were going but when he took a rucksack out for the day (he hates carrying anything) and then suggested a visit to a park (rather than a pub) I knew something was up! We took a leisurely walk around Regents Park and then hired a pedalo. Sam climbed onto the back of the boat and wobbled down onto one knee….

Getting to know… Holly Bobbins Photography

I’ve simply loved reading the answers photographer Holly Bobbins sent back to my questions… mainly because I think we’re pretty much the same person (and the quote at the end made me cry)! Read on to find out what a happy, sentimental and creative soul she is. Q. What makes you happy? A. Lots of things makes me happy … standard things, my kids, my husband but I can find joy all over the place. My husband said the happiest he’s ever seen me was watching a hermit crab on our honeymoon in Thailand. I spent about an hour watching…

Who’s got that back-to-school feeling? Parents all over the land shoot their hands up! My son doesn’t start school until next year so he’s been in nursery as usual all over the holidays. This time next year we’ll be knee deep in uniform, pencil cases and proud front door photos… what the hell am I going to do with him in the holidays?! The end of the summer has a unique feeling I think, and boy what a summer it’s been! June wasn’t crazy for me but come July I had my Hampshire wedding fair with Kissing Gate Events so…

Updates from Margot’s HQ

I am SO sorry for radio silence on the blog recently. I went camping at the beginning of the month and broke my toes, then when I got back I was mega busy trying to finish issue 15 before I went to France for my best friend’s wedding. I got back on Sunday and have been trying to sort my life out in the presence of my three-year-old son. He’s gone back to nursery today so I’m back at my desk… I think I left part of my brain in France though. Later in the week/early next week (when the…
