Tricia & Gavin ~ LOVEFEST

October 16, 2018 | News

Goodness me, how much FUN does this wedding look? Over to bride Tricia to tell you all about it… The theme of our celebration was LOVE. Gavin and I actually married in USA three years ago  but we make a decision at the time not to invite UK friends but to have a second ‘wedding’ to celebrate not only our marriage but also our friendships. We are ex-pats and have been living outside of the UK for six years, living in Trinidad, Korea, and the USA. We currently live in The Hague in Holland. This was our opportunity to have…

The Wonderous Wedding Fair 2018

October 14, 2018 | News

It’s that time again! The Wonderous Wedding Fair has been happening at the Portsmouth Pyramids since 2016. It was previously organised by The Vintage Parade and… ME! But this year Alex is steering the ship alone. I wanted to work on some solo projects (such as my Worthing fair) but I’ll be there on Sunday 28th October helping Alex in whatever capacity she needs me! The event is held in the large exhibition space at The Pyramids Centre in Southsea, Portsmouth. It’s a big blank canvas space allowing up to 40 exhibitors within the world of weddings. Expect an action-packed…

Real Ceremony

October 11, 2018 | News

We often feature real weddings but our relationship with The Celebrant Directory means we can focus specifically on the ceremony. It’s so interesting to hear about the couple’s journey, from initially meeting their celebrant, right up to the day itself. Alexandra Harrison is a professional independent celebrant. She will always go the extra mile to help create the ceremony you want however traditional or alternative. The Initial Meeting I met my couple one dark February evening in Lewes. I call these meetings “the discovery”. Imagine picking up a love story to read, but instead of reading it, the two main…

Wedding First Dance

Dance School

October 8, 2018 | News

Extracted from our current issue we’ve got first dance tips for you today! Over to Michael… I love a first dance. Done well they can tell your guests the story of your relationship, done badly they’re three minutes of torture for you and your guests. I’ve been dancing since I was tiny. Some boys wanted to be footballers – I wanted to be Fred Astaire. My husband however struggled to tell his Swing from his Salsa and quite frankly his left from his right. Six weeks before our big day I set about teaching Dan our first dance, here’s what…

Industrial DIY Bristol Wedding

October 5, 2018 | News

Today we’re excited to feature Jemma and Stefan’s colourful, industrial and DIY wedding in the heart of trendy Bristol… Q. What was the theme/style for your big day? A. Our aim was to make the day relaxed, casual and fun. Neither of us are big fans of formal occasions and Jemma couldn’t imagine wearing a traditional wedding dress, so we just chose what we liked and developed a style as we went along. The initial colour scheme was going to be peacock, inspired by Jemma’s hairband, however, as time went on Jemma started to refer to the theme of the…

Margot’s Wedding Fair

October 2, 2018 | News

WHAT a weekend! Margot’s Wedding Fair is over and I’m shattered… it’s Tuesday and I’ve only just finished unpacking the car. We were blessed with bursts of sunshine for our event at The Dome in Worthing on Sunday. The views from the main lounge and the Whispering Gallery are incredible; gaze over calm blue seas to the iconic pier, a beacon of British nostalgia! Sally from Events by Design put together a beautiful beachy tablescape in the window of the Atrium Bar. Stunning isn’t it? Marsha from Quirky Chair Covers added colour and pattern with her gorgeous alternative chair covers…

Margot’s Wedding Fair

September 20, 2018 | News

You know that feeling when you put a date in your diary and it feels like ages away and then suddenly… it’s next weekend! That’s right folks, Margot’s Wedding Fair at the Worthing Dome is NEXT SUNDAY and I can think of little else. This is my first solo fair (having previously organised The Wonderous Wedding Fair in Portsmouth with The Vintage Parade) but I have a long-standing relationship with The Dome. It’s SUCH an amazing, iconic venue right on the beach, opposite the pier, smack bang in town. It’s a separate business but the stunning Edwardian cinema downstairs is…
