Today we’re excited to feature this elegant styled shoot organised by Emily Little, founder and director of Faux Bloom.
Faux Bloom are passionate about providing natural looking faux floral displays & arrangements. They design bespoke centre pieces, feature installations, bouquets and venue decor including flower walls, arches & suspended marquee designs. They describe their style at ‘Bohemian Luxe’ and a lot of their inspiration comes from Italy & Australia.
Emily explains about the inspiration for this shoot: “The turquoise pop of colour came from a chair I saw at an interior design show. This was soon on my mood board at the studio and, soon after, a gorgeous painting jumped out at me whilst researching for a project. It’s called ‘Sky Fragments’ by artist Scott Naismith. These two items were the focus when choosing the flowers and styling the shoot. I wanted to use local suppliers and had such a great time working with some fantastic people for this project.”
I asked Emily how the business came about. She explained that she initially started creating bouquets for interior design projects. Around the same time all her friends were getting married and she realised this was the industry she wanted to focus on.
I was also curious to find out what faux flowers were made from. Emily told me she’s spent the last few years researching suppliers for the best quality blooms. She describes how each stem is individually hand-crafted mimicking the beautiful spontaneity of nature. Hand-dyed materials, wax coated silk and high grade latex are used to create beautiful natural looking flowers.
Benefits of using faux flowers for your wedding include: saving money, being able to use your favourite flower whatever the time of year, not having to worry about wilting and being able to keep an arrangement as a memento of your special day. Also, a massive point to consider when thinking about faux vs fresh is the eco element; hiring artificial flowers creates a huge reduction in delivery journeys compared to fresh, this along with only using biodegradable oasis and eco-friendly packaging materials results in a reduced carbon footprint.
