Issue 12 and future plans…

September 11, 2018 | News

Hello! Issue 12 is officially OUT! I distributed close to 1000 copies at wedding fairs at the weekend and I have a diary of events (within Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey) to get to over the next couple of months and after Christmas.

You can read the issue online by clicking here. As always I would love love love your feedback, whether you’re a bride planning your wedding or a supplier who’d like to get involved in future issues.

It makes me so happy looking at issues 11 and 12 side by side. I think they really sum up brand ‘Margot’, don’t you? Our issue 12 cover is by Agnes Black from a fabulous styled shoot that we previous featured on the blog. Click here to take a look.

As always I’m so proud of the content in this issue, I love how it’s formed from friendships and connections I’ve made within the industry. For example we’ve featured Daniel and Michael’s real wedding (pages 16-19). They found their photographer (the amazing Carrie Lavers) through our magazine and we previously featured their engagement shoot on the blog. They live locally to me and Daniel runs a local deli. Contents from their real wedding naturally spilled over into our menu feature and first dance feature too (because Michael’s a dance teacher!). It makes me very happy when content flows organically like this.

Our styled shoots are very special in this issue too. The arty elegant shoot at Balcombe Place was coordinated by me, it’s so fulfilling seeing the amazing end result when you’ve literally organised everything from picking up the models to buying the sandwiches for lunch! The Fiesta Fields shoot is stunning too and I was lucky enough to go along on the day (because they had a networking event in the evening). It was really magical seeing the sun set over such beautiful scenes. Another reminder of why I work in the wedding industry!

I can’t go through each feature but I love it all! Thank you to everyone who contributed content and advertised with us. I can’t wait to add to the collection next year…

Which brings me on to plans! As usual my head’s been a melting pot of ideas but I’ve managed to formulate some big plans. I intend to increase the size and frequency of the magazine next year. Each issue will have more pages (and a proper spine instead of a staple bind). It will be quarterly from April so issue 13 will be out in April, issue 14 in July and issue 15 in October. I’m also going to squeeze in a special issue in January… I’m going to be a busy bee! We released a special issue in 2016 (we still have limited copies available to buy online) which I felt was a real achievement and I think it’s time again. We’ll be collating the best content from issues 8-12 and they’ll be limited opportunities for full page adverts and editorial. Watch this space. I’m also investigating getting a barcode and opportunities to get it into shops. Limited copies will still be given away for free but a thicker magazine with a cover price will give the magazine the value it deserves I think. There’s lots to do… I’m quite scared but excited too. I’m looking to employ the services of a shit hot sales person so if that’s you or if you know anyone please get in touch. I’ll be advertising the opportunity soon.

I’ll leave it there! Enjoy issue 12.

Helen x
