Hello and happy new year! We’ve well and truly hit the ground running so far this year. By the end of January our special issue will be out in the shops AND we will have completed our first wedding fair of the year. What with all the fun and games of getting a 132 page document to print, Margot’s first birthday totally passed me by!
Last January we announced our name change from Doily Days to Margot’s Wedding. The change came about as a result of work I was doing with a coach (Lisa Johnson). She made me realise how ‘vintage’ we’d gone with Doily Days and helped me get back on track. I’ve said before that I feel like Doily Days retired; hung up her (?) tired crocheted boots and made way for a sassy (much) younger model. And in steps Margot!
(Reminiscing back to Doily Days…)
I’ve learnt loads this year about branding and niching in on ideal clients.
Although the business is in fact ten years old this year I feel like it’s a new business and we’re just getting going. We’re publishing four magazines this year, continuing with our regular online activity and we’re hosting three wedding fairs. On that note, it’s time to announce our summer date! We’re hosting an outdoor extravaganza with Kissing Gate Events on 21st July this year. Plans are only just taking shape but please put the date in your diary. Exhibitor enquiries welcome.
Don’t forget to seek out the special issue from 24th! They’ll be available in WH Smith and Martins newsagents within Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey. They’ll also be available via some independent stockists which will be listed on the website from 24th.
And please come and see us at Margot’s Wedding Fair at The Worthing Dome on Sunday 27th January. Here are some photos, and a video of the fun we had in September.
