I’ve previously organised a wedding fair in Chichester (A Very Nice Day with Vintage & Very Nice) and I’ve hosted The Wonderous Wedding Fair in Southsea for two years running (with The Vintage Parade). This year it’s time to go it alone! It’s MY party (well it’s Margot’s Party but she’s basically my alter ego). The event is being held at The Dome in Worthing on Sunday 30th September. It’s funny how it’s come about because it was me who put the Dome in touch with Kelly from Belle’s Events years ago. I was always there when Kelly hosted her fairs; networking, sipping fizz and larking about in photo booths. It always seemed to be sunny on the day of the event, no matter what time of year it was… fingers crossed for blue skies again in September. It’s such a great spot, right on the seafront and overlooking the pier. You can have your coffee on the balcony and feel like you’re on holiday, it’s a great vantage point to watch the world go by. The building is Edwardian (grade 2 listed) and, as well as housing the function rooms, there’s also the vintage tearoom downstairs and the most amazing cinema; one of the oldest working cinemas in England. There are photo ops a plenty and one of the real weddings in our special issue is at the Dome (Lucy & Bruce – see pics below).
We’ll be showcasing approx 20 hand-picked wedding suppliers who fit with our style; i.e. stylish, non traditional and quirky. They’ll be vehicles and entertainment outside to draw people in and entry is free. Once inside be inspired by our unique suppliers, have a glass of fizz, try some cakes samples and get involved in our workshops. Head upstairs to the Whispering Gallery, marvel at the view and imagine your ceremony there with light pouring in from every angle.
They’ll be copies of issue 12 at the event, as well as limited copies of our special issue and other mags such as Your Sussex Wedding. I’ll be on hand to give general advice to couples and Rob and James (from the venue) will be available to show you around.
Visit our FAIR page for more info, the link to the Facebook event and link to register online via Eventbrite.
Suppliers interested in confirming a pitch should contact Helen asap to avoid disappointment (we’re limiting it to two suppliers in each category). There’s an opportunity for a stylist to dress the stunning Whispering Gallery at the top of the building.
Spread the word and have a great weekend y’all.
