Hola! Our outdoor wedding fair with Kissing Gate Events is done and dusted… and it didn’t rain, hurrah! I’ve spent the last two days in paddling pools with my son trying not to melt. He’s gone back to nursery today so I can finally catch up with myself and conduct a full event de-brief.
The fair (Margot’s Outdoor Extravaganza) was a collaborative project between Margot’s Wedding and Kissing Gate Events. An opportunity to showcase everything Kissing Gate has to offer; beautiful land venues, traditional pole marquee, bell tents, delicious food, horse box bar and horse box toilets. My job was to bring together local wedding suppliers who share mine and Kissing Gate’s love for cool, alternative, outdoor weddings. I promoted the event and coordinated a live styled shoot on the day… which was so much fun! I’ve coordinated plenty of editorial shoots for the magazine, and plenty of wedding fairs, but not very often at the same time! (There was that one time in Brighton when I put together a full retro diner for a shoot at a wedding fair though, oh the nostalgia!)
I’ll let the photos do the talking here, the below images were taken by the brilliant Anna Pumer Photography. They give a lovely overview of the atmosphere of the day…

Re the live styled shoot, I don’t want to give too much away because we’re featuring it in our next issue (out in a couple of weeks) but here’s a little taster for you. Kerry from Teddy Pig Photography did an amazing job as usual and Alex from The Vintage Parade was brilliant, she took charge of styling the table and coming up with ideas for shots. It all came together beautifully and I must give big thanks to our beautiful model Eliza, Hannah Hair UK for hair styling, Totally Flawless for make up and glitter, Blooming Cow for table flowers and bouquet, Sophie Rose Bridal for the dresses and Black Diamond for providing most of the tableware.
I must thank all our exhibitors too, for being brilliant, creative and inspiring and supporting our first outdoor wedding fair (I will be emailing you all later with links to the photos etc… I’m determined to give myself the afternoon on the beach and I’ve got the small matter of some Airbnb changeovers at the boatyard to deal with first!)
Tessa and the team from Kissing Gate Events were an absolute dream to work with, super helpful, super friendly, enthusiastic and VERY passionate about their product. I’m looking forward to a continued relationship with them.
Big thanks to my sister who stood at the door with a smile on her face for four hours…
And last but by no means least, all the brides and couples who visited with their friends and families. We hope you got some great ideas!
Our next fair is at The Worthing Dome on 13th October.
