At the end of last year I threw a supplier party to celebrate 10 issues of the magazine. It was brilliant to see so many of my advertisers and supplier friends all under one roof. Everyone made such an effort; coming from afar, staying in hotels and going to town with their outfits. We’re all small businesses who spend plenty of time social networking but don’t get to see each other much, so it was a great excuse to dust off our heels and have a few glasses of fizz.
Manic Stage Productions provided a fire dancer, Emma, who braved the chilly November evening in a skimpy outfit to greet guests as they arrived. She was so impressive! It added a real wow factor and set the tone for the evening (click below left image to enlarge and see Emma in the corner!).
I managed to talk the organiser of a local swing dance club into coming along with some members. They all dressed in vintage clothes and enjoyed the music courtesy of George from The Wind Ups, our very own gramophone DJ. The dancers provided great entertainment for the guests and it was clear they were having fun!
Lovely Sally from Southsea Bakes made a tropical-themed hummingbird cake which was devoured within minutes of cutting it up.
Doris Loves provided a temporary tattoo station in a box which is always good fun (I was so busy chatting to everyone on the night I didn’t actually get a tattoo but the leftovers went down well at my son’s second birthday party a few weeks later!)
Laura from Lulubelle’s Limousine brought along her suitcase of props for some good old fashioned photo booth selfies.
The event was held at Southsea Tennis Club which is available to hire for weddings. The staff are great and it’s a great blank canvas space.
Photography is by the lovely and brilliant Natasha Buckney (who had a hilarious accident with the DIY glitter bar!)
Love a good party!
