I have always found other people’s lives interesting. How they live, their upbringing, how they got into their careers etc. I find creative people’s lives especially interesting because they’ve followed their passion and have actively created a life on their own terms.
As we continue to live in lockdown and get back to basics, it’s a good time to reflect on life, what you’ve done, how you’ve got to where you are, whether you’re happy… and thinking about the direction your future will take.
Today we focus our spotlight on Hampshire-based Outside & Instant, a husband and wife team who offer both wedding photography and photo booth packages.
James decided to pursue his passion for photography further after many years in the armed forces. Before too long he realised weddings were his focus and, after acquiring a magic mirror photo booth to accompany his wedding photography, he noticed the buzz around the new ‘open style’ photo booths.
With plenty of bookings coming through, a second photo booth was needed so James and his wife Charlotte put their heads together and thought about their combined experience and strengths. One of James’s many hats was as a carpenter and joiner and Charlotte had a flair for design. They came up with the idea to research and design a vintage-inspired camera photo booth. The project came to life and the impressive finished booth is crafted from American cherry wood. It has a sleek finish and comes complete with DSLR and touch screen ensuring every photo taken is of the highest quality. They design a print template for every booking, bespoke to the couple and fitting of the occasion.
They now create their own props, in-keeping with the wooden style of the vintage camera photo booth.
