French Wedding

The Wench & The Woodsman

December 17, 2018 | News

Extracted from issue 12 we’re pleased to feature Sally and Ralph’s alpine-themed real wedding in the New Forest. We love the romantic Provencal vibes! Cheese cheese and more cheese…

Quotes from bride Sally who runs With These Hands Weddings.

“We went bespoke with our rings as we had the idea of having the landscape of the mountains where we got engaged incorporated into the design.”

“In one of our favourite restaurants in the Alps, the waiters wear wooden bow ties, so Ralph, being ‘the woodsman’ decided that he and his groomsmen must have these.”

“We re-named the wedding breakfast our ‘wine and cheese party’. We had alpine dishes of Tartiflette and Crozetflette with a mix of French and English meats and cheeses. It was a full-on cheese fest!”

“We drank wine which came from the local vineyard in the mountains where we got engaged the previous summer.”

“Rather than having the church organist we played guitar and all sang “Oh Happy Day”.

“We used a cow bell to get people’s attention throughout the day.”

“Our first dance was to Runaway by The Corrs and, on the second chorus, we decided to actually runaway and head back outside to finish the dance on our own under the dreamcatcher tree.”

“We walked out of the church to Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher.”

Sally & Ralph run their own event styling business and they did all the flowers, décor and styling themselves (piano bar, dreamcatchers, wooden bow ties, lights, signs, hay bales and cable reel tables. www.withthesehandsweddings.co.uk
