The Barn at Avington is ready to open its doors!
Located on a 500 acre working farm near Winchester, The Barn at Avington is now taking bookings for 2018 and beyond after an extensive renovation project. The Barn is the essence of an alternative wedding venue and now boasts an outdoor festival-style ceremony space (overlooking the River Itchen), a woodland area for after-ceremony drinks and a converted industrial barn for receptions.
Deer can be spotted strolling peacefully through the trees and swans fly overhead at this dreamy location which also offers five-star cottages for wedding guests, and a hidden, fairy-lit luxury glamping spot with stunning views across Hampshire. All this is bookable for a full week so brides, grooms and loved ones can prep, party and pore over photos of the night before in their own time.
On 20th May 2018, The Barn at Avington will welcome couples at their open day, where bride-and-grooms-to-be can meet their recommended suppliers who have been sourced with care from across Hampshire. Suppliers include Bark’n’Render and Smallpiece Catering who will be showcasing their delicious menus.
Events Manager at the barn, Beth Allen, said: “In the autumn of 2017 I was looking for a wedding venue that offered something a bit different and I approached farmer, Robert, to discuss converting part of his working farm. Since then we’ve been working together to renovate the barn and cultivate the site, and we’re so pleased to be finally launching Hampshire’s coolest wedding location.”
So many couples Beth came across said they’d like a venue they could put their own stamp on, where they’re not treated as part of a conveyor belt of weddings, that’s also close to the M3 and has great accommodation to boot. The Barn at Avington offers exactly that, they’ve transformed the industrial barn into a cool and light space.
“We work with couples to make their wedding look even better than their Pinterest boards” explains Beth. “We suggest carefully sourced local suppliers that suit the couple’s taste and budget. As Events Manager, I am always on hand to ensure brides and grooms have everything they need – we even offer a child minding service while family and friends let their hair down!”
Introductory rates for 2018 bookings are available – please contact Beth Allen by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07828 843893.
Booking is not necessary for the open day on 20th May 2018 – the site is open from 10.30am to 4pm and Beth Allen will be available to answer any enquiries.
Please note that at present the venue is unable to offer civil ceremonies, however they have a stunning space under the trees and next to a river for humanist ceremonies. This gives couples the opportunity to have truly personal vows and a ceremony that is unique. From handfasting to jumping the broom – there are so many rituals which will make your ceremony unforgettable.
