Earthy Outdoor Weddings at Chiddinglye

Today we hear from Becky Cook who runs The Garden Chef and Patrick’s Barn at Chiddinglye in Sussex. She tells us what they wanted to portray from this earthy natural shoot, and how special Happy Valley is if you want to make nature a big part of your day (and I for one would really love to hug one of those amazing ancient trees!) Over to Becky… We really love smaller weddings, weddings that reflect the couple and the things that are important to them. We relish helping our couples on an individual basis and building their perfect days, working…

Eco Folksy Bridal Shoot

Hampshire-based photographer Sarah Hoyle coordinated this shoot as a way to portray the values of her brand which is all about simple living and sustainability. “The shoot had a folksy feel to it” explains Sarah “I described it as being a mix between Poldark and Mumford and Sons!” Sarah brought together a team of suppliers with the same ethical and environmental values, to create a shoot that was eco-friendly and sustainable. The venue, Gilbert White’s House in Hampshire, is classed as an eco-friendly wedding venue so it was the perfect choice. They also have their own in-house brewery so the table…

A Colourful Wedding Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Rainbows…

When I saw this shoot it was no surprise to learn it was Photography by Vicki‘s concept (if you’ve seen her website or social media you’ll know why… she’s the queen of colour). In lockdown Vicki spent time researching colour combinations from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. She found the colour clashes evoked memories from family and childhood photo albums. The clashes seemed fearless and Vicki wanted to see how combinations from these eras could work in the wedding industry. It was an experiment to move away from typical wedding colours. These colour combos provide inspiration to couples who want…

Holly & Ed’s Wedding at Botley Hill Barn

Today we’ve featured a classic, timeless wedding featuring some of the best wedding suppliers in Surrey. We LOVE Holly’s wide leg jumpsuit, and we like how they kept things simple but bucked traditions to make the day their own… Q. What was the theme/style for your big day? A. It was really important to us to keep the day as relaxed and as true to us as possible. We leant heavily on our suppliers and their knowledge of the venue to pull together a simple and cosy look that worked well for the time of year, but also didn’t cost…

Supplier Spotlight – Peach Wolfe Stationery

November 17, 2021 | Bridal Inspiration, Wedding Stationery

We all know I’m a sucker for anything retro, especially when it comes to styling, and 70s is my fave era. I can’t get enough of the colours, patterns and general shag pile vibe. When I came across Peach Wolfe on Instagram my heart skipped a beat… Founder Sarah is a self-confessed tea drinking, tie-dying, cat snuggling designer from Worcestershire. She obviously has an eye for that ‘iconic’ look. Not all the styles in her collection are retro – you’ll also find rock n roll, witchy and celestial, holographic etc – but I get the feeling giving retro a modern…

Hampshire Boutique – Margaux Mae Bridal

I had a lovely brunch recently with Andrea Dargon of Hampshire-based Margaux Mae Bridal. We chatted about all sorts; how the former PA found her way into the wedding industry through making cakes, her work as Hampshire Brand Ambassador for The Wedding Industry Supplier Network, and the journey that saw her realising her dream and launching her bridal boutique in August. We discussed how Andrea thinks Princess Margaret was the most iconic royal bride. ‘Strong and wild’ is how she describes her. It’s her love for this type of timeless, elegant dress that saw her carefully choosing the designers for…

Would you like to come round and have a deeply relaxing hour-long energy treatment while talking all about your wedding? Country Garden Styling with Bell & Bell Events

Bell & Bell Events is run by sister duo Jen and Sue. I spoke to them about their hire collection, their unique aesthetic and how they’ve kept busy during the pandemic… When Sue was planning her wedding back in 2018, she and her husband were set on creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. They wanted an intimate, country-style wedding with a bit of fun. Their wedding was at Cissbury Barns which, at the time, was still being converted from an old sheep barn. “A little bit of spit and sawdust was what we saw and fell in love with” says Sue. They…
