Dutch Masters-themed Bridal Shoot @ Fabrica, Brighton

This unique and dramatic styled shoot was curated by Alex Cvijovic from The Wonderous Wedding Fair. Her vision for the shoot was to juxtapose the vibrancy of Dutch Golden age paintings with vintage florals. The palette was a combination of rich sultry colours with pops of blue and gold. The Venue Fabrica in Brighton is a former Regency church in the heart of the city. It boasts impressive stained glass windows, high ceilings, and a traditional overhead balcony. Now a contemporary art gallery, the venue allows a number of exclusive ceremonies to be held every year. Alex was looking for…

The House of Love Illustration

Imagine how happy I was when Megan Metcalf AKA The House of Love Illustration contacted me at the beginning of the year and said she wanted to come and do some live drawings at my Boat Shed wedding fair. I love her work and was so touched she made the journey all the way from Margate. Above are drawings she did on the day featuring The Curated Kitchen‘s exhibition stand. I guess the inviting grazing table of different colours and textures was the ideal still life! The above drawings were also done on the day, featuring buoys within the alternative,…

The Boat Shed – Kitsch & Nautical Styled Shoot

Way back in March, before the world ground to a halt, I organised a styled bridal shoot at The Boat Shed. I wanted an opportunity to get some awesome photos of the venue and I knew I could count of some of my fantastic contacts to collaborate… I wanted a pro on board when it came to the ‘look’ so I asked Sally Gallis, Events by Design if she’d like to lead on the concept and styling… and boy, did she do a good job! The theme was kitsch/nautical. The idea was fun, tongue-in-cheek, saucy sailor-boy kinda vibes. As you…

Country/Frida Kahlo Inspired Bridal Shoot

We’re in love with these images submitted by Toni of Cuttlebone Photography. The flowers are such statement pieces (especially the Frida Kahlo inspired crown!) and the white boots give a cool country vibe. Over to Toni to explain a bit more about the shoot… Brandon (Flowers 4) and I had worked together a few times on shoots and have been friends for years. For this styled session we wanted to create a country, rock and roll wedding with a side of Frida. A statement headpiece rather than the dainty norm and stunning bouquets filled with beautiful scented blooms and pampas…

Today, extracted from our current issue, we’ve got an uber-cool inspirational shoot for you. Shot in my hometown of Southsea, Portsmouth and involving some of my very favourite supplier folk, this shoot was a no-brainer for our issue 17 cover. With a background in art and design, Alex always comes up with unique concepts and executes them perfectly. This shoot took place at The Queens Hotel in Southsea, a magnificent…

Jason is booked for three back garden weddings this year and these photos of Nicki and Joel’s back garden wedding last summer demonstrate what you cam acheive. Over to bride, Nicki… Q.
