Updates from Margot’s HQ – Back to Work!

It’s the 1st of July! I’m moving home today after living with my sister for three months and I’m back in FULL work mode from tomorrow. I’m no longer Furloughed so bring it on! I thought today would be the perfect time for a reflective post, a look back on the last three months and a look ahead to the next three/six months. The last three months I’ve been Furloughed from the business since the end of March. All I’ve done is kept up with emails and blog posts (i.e. my statutory obligation as company director to ‘maintain the success…

Margot and the big C…

March 18, 2020 | News, Wedding Industry

Sorry, it’s another post about Covid 19. I don’t know about you but I’m finding updates from businesses very interesting. The thing with this is everyone’s got a unique set of circumstances so it’s interesting to see what tack people are taking. Although it does seem like choices are rapidly being taken out of our hands. Personally I’m doing what I can today/tomorrow while my son’s at nursery because if (or should I say when) they close, it’s game over… for goodness knows how long. My son Rupert is four and he’s not the kind of kid who plays quietly…

Goodbye 2019… Hello New Decade!

December 24, 2019 | News

Well hello there! I’m writing this on 18th December but it’s scheduled to go out on Christmas Eve. Please spare a thought for my hangover… it was my 40th birthday yesterday! I’ve had a monster hangover every Christmas Eve for the last twenty odd years. I’ll be sharing pics of birthday shenenigans in the new year (dress code: 70s dinner party). I usually dislike Christmas but for some reason my spirits are high this year. Possibly because I’ve been excited about my big birthday party, or possibly because I’m spending Christmas with my bestie and her amazing family in Norfolk…

Sophie & Nick’s Midsummer Feastival

What a beauty we have for you today! Sophie and Nick perfectly mixed rustic farm vibes with lavish, indulgent treats for their guests. Over to the happy couple to tell you more… Q. What was the theme/style for your big day? A. When it came to the style of our wedding, we were led first of all by the date. As it was the day after the longest day, we envisaged a midsummer vibe; festival, feasting, singing and dancing. The idea then developed to include meadow flowers, prairie ribbons, floral patterns and celestial touches. Sophie grew up on a farm,…

Weddings that Stand the Test of Time

July 30, 2019 | Love, Marriage, News, Photography, real wedding

I’ve wanted to write this post for a while because it’s something I feel quite passionately about. I’ve run this wedding business for ten years and even before that I was involved with weddings in some form or another. I worked in the function room at Hampton Court Palace when I was 18 and then, in later life, I worked for event companies; one company specialised in Moroccan-themed events and the other, hen and stag weekends all over the world. The reason I’m telling you this is because I feel like I’ve seen it all when it comes to weddings….
