Russian Blooms hits the road!

It’s been so cold lately I’ve regretted getting rid of my mum’s old Russian hat (little-known fact about me, I lived in Moscow when I was four). When I think of Russia I don’t think of flowers somehow but today I’m featuring Hampshire-based Russian Blooms! Sometimes I look at people’s work and I think “how the devil are you so talented?” and Sally Biloshiskaya’s floristry business is no exception. Sally started the business two years ago simply because she wanted to do something she loved. She obviously has passion and raw talent for the industry because her designs have been…

Sussex Florals – Bridal Bouquet Ideas

Today we hand over to Petra of Sussex Florals to talk all things bridal bouquet… The bride’s bouquet to me is the most important element to get right before we plan the rest of the wedding flowers. When dreaming up ideas for blog content I thought about the FaceTime photo shoot I did with Tim Dunk waaaay back at the start of the first lockdown. I thought it would be a cool idea to see if we could do a bridal shoot via FaceTime. I contacted Tim and he was in! So then I had a quick think about who our model could be. It had to be someone with a suitable dress and accessories, and someone…

Lucy & Harry’s Blooming Lovely Festival-style Wedding

The scent inside the marquee with all these flowers must have been incredible! Over to Lucy to tell us all about her wonderful, relaxed, colourful day… Our wedding theme was: colourful, rustic, festival, bohemian. In a countryside location. The most important thing to us when tying the knot was our little family feeling ‘oneness’. Marriage is a bond like no other and it’s made us stronger and closer as a family. For ourselves and the kids to all share the same surname. Unconditional love. We always knew we wanted a ‘field’ wedding and that’s exactly what we had. Harry’s family…

We recently welcomed Velvet Broon Flowers to our online directory. We love Lesley’s down-to-earth, yet luxurious style and we wanted to get to know her a little better! Q. How would you describe your floristry style? A. I would describe my style as colourful, romantic, garden-style florals. Q. How long have you been doing floristry? What’s your background? A. My career in flowers started after I graduated form art school in Aberdeen in 1997.  As a shop florist I learned everything from washing buckets, sweeping floors to creating and delivering bouquets and arrangements. I then moved to Texas in 1999…
