Pops of Pink @ The Giraffe Shed

The force that is Sally Gallis, stylist and planner of Luna & the Lane, has recently been involved with two styled shoots at The Giraffe Shed. Both had pink elements so I wanted to combine them into an inspirational post to show ideas for pink styling details. The super-fun, throw-all-the-pink-at-it, bubble gum pink shoot, complete with disco balls and power florals was named I Believe in Pink. The bold, edgy styling elements formed the subject for a photographers workshop at the venue. As much pink as you can throw a stick at. The shoot with more muted, contemporary elements was…

Q&A with Carole from Duncton Mill & The Naked Food Company

Q. As we know it’s not been a normal year. How are you coping with everything? What’s this year been like for you? A. It became apparent very early on that things were going to be incredibly different this year. I knew it was going to be a rollercoaster for me but the worst thing was that my clients were really going to suffer. I decided immediately that I would do everything I could to make postponing their dream days as quick and painless as possible. I started by rolling over all of my catering and venue bookings and deposits…

The Cherry Barn Wedding Showcase THIS SUNDAY

Back in March we announced The Cherry Barn were hosting a Wedding Showcase in April. But alas it was not meant to be! After all their hard work and planning they had to cancel because of lockdown (we have also had to cancel events so we totally understand their pain). What a different summer they must have lived through at the barn this year. Eerie silence in place of Champagne corks popping, music, laughter… We are pleased to announce they’re going ahead with their rescheduled date this Sunday (4th October) with all the necessary Covid restrictions in place; a one…

The Boat Shed – London Warehouse Vibes by the Sea

Blog posts have been boat shed-heavy lately… but that’s just because we’ve got so much great content at the moment! We were eagerly awaiting the professional edited photos from our recent Boat Shed open day and boy, Weddings by Tom, did NOT disappoint. At the open day we really wanted to showcase the space and demonstrate how it could look for an event. We set up the space for a photo shoot back in March with a kitsch, colourful theme and this time I wanted something a little different. I still wanted the relaxed/rustic look because, lets face it, it…

The Boat Shed Open Day – Thank You

Hello, hello! This is a very quick blog post as my son is waiting patiently for me to make a rocket with him (full time school from next week! Bring it on…) I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all the suppliers who came together to make Sunday’s open day at The Boat Shed such a success. My vision really did come to life in the space. It looked incredible; the festoon lighting, the neon, the giant light up PARTY letters, the bar, flowers, furniture, tableware… the cake! The music. It was a total dream. I’ll be…

Updates from The Boat Shed…

I think big things are in store for The Boat Shed, Hampshire from next year and beyond! (Above photos: Annamarie Stepney) With our first wedding this summer postponed until next May, we’ve already got three weddings next year to kick things off. And we have back-to-back appointments booked at our open day on 13th September so I expect lots more bookings to come in after that. (Above photos: Annamarie Stepney) This is the first open day we’ve had at The Boat Shed. We had a wedding fair in March, it was a great day with A LOT of suppliers in…

Dutch Masters-themed Bridal Shoot @ Fabrica, Brighton

This unique and dramatic styled shoot was curated by Alex Cvijovic from The Wonderous Wedding Fair. Her vision for the shoot was to juxtapose the vibrancy of Dutch Golden age paintings with vintage florals. The palette was a combination of rich sultry colours with pops of blue and gold. The Venue Fabrica in Brighton is a former Regency church in the heart of the city. It boasts impressive stained glass windows, high ceilings, and a traditional overhead balcony. Now a contemporary art gallery, the venue allows a number of exclusive ceremonies to be held every year. Alex was looking for…

The Boat Shed – Kitsch & Nautical Styled Shoot

Way back in March, before the world ground to a halt, I organised a styled bridal shoot at The Boat Shed. I wanted an opportunity to get some awesome photos of the venue and I knew I could count of some of my fantastic contacts to collaborate… I wanted a pro on board when it came to the ‘look’ so I asked Sally Gallis, Events by Design if she’d like to lead on the concept and styling… and boy, did she do a good job! The theme was kitsch/nautical. The idea was fun, tongue-in-cheek, saucy sailor-boy kinda vibes. As you…
