Hampshire Wedding Venue – The Boat Shed

Ok so we’re nearly into June and this summer is looking VERY different to the summer I imagined. I think it goes without saying that everyone’s summer/year is looking very different to the one they imagined. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to postpone/cancel their wedding. The thing about the Covid-19 outbreak is how everyone’s been affected in their own way and I just hope those planning 2020 weddings have managed to put a suitable plan in place. We don’t know yet how it’s all going to affect the wedding industry in the long term but it’s my thinking that marriages/weddings will very much be going ahead, but perhaps we’ll see much more stripped-back celebrations. Smaller numbers, simpler flowers, back-to-basics approach…. Which luckily is what we’re all about at Margot’s Wedding!

I am writing this blog post with my ‘Wedding Coordinator at The Boat Shed‘ hat on, just to keep you updated with regard to the new Hampshire wedding venue.

Thankfully, at the beginning of March, we managed to host our first wedding fair. We squeezed in a styled shoot the day before and I’m so grateful it all worked out. I’m only allowed to share a couple of the colourful quirky shoot images now (see below and second photo above) because we’ve managed to get it placed with a top national wedding blog. In a couple of months we’ll be shouting about it from the rooftops and plastering our social media with colourful, nautical goodness! There’s a video too, by Bride & Zoom that is just amazing and I can’t wait to share/add it to the site.

We have our fingers crossed for our next wedding fair on 6th September but we will make that decision at the beginning of July.

With lots of interested parties following the fair and as a result of lockdown planning, we have lots of couples wishing to view the venue, so I’m tentatively hoping we can look at an open day before the summer’s over. Fingers crossed!

Sadly Amy & Sam have had to postpone their wedding at The Boat Shed from July this year until next May. This means we have three weddings to look forward to next year, in May, June and July. We really can’t wait to kick things off. Even if it is a year later than planned!
