Lisa’s Frocks

March 30, 2016 | News

I came across Lisa Sheridan at a Belles Events wedding fair in 2013. I was blown away by the rail of beautiful dresses before me. All vintage inspired, different fabrics – from polka dots to florals – and all different styles. Of course this was just to showcase her collection but I say hey, put your bridesmaids in mismatching florals… or choose a fabric and have different styles to suit each girl.

Lisa is a trained ladies wear designer and even while studying she was designing dresses inspired by 1930s lingerie. Lisa previously designed lingerie and swimwear for M&S where she learnt a lot about structure and support in fashion design.

It was after making her own 1950s inspired wedding dress in 2012 that Lisa decided to go freelance and kissed goodbye to the long commute from Bognor to London.

Lisa made me a bespoke dress for our industry party a couple of years ago. I found the fabric on eBay and Lisa and I talked about the design. I love it and have worn it to many special occasions with a big petticoat underneath to make it extra special. She’s also made lots of fantastic bespoke dresses for the fabulous Dawn Gracie of Dawn’s Vintage Do fame and a beautiful dress for Charlie from Caravanilla who we recently featured (click here to view the blog post)

We have also used some of Lisa’s dresses for our own photo shoots such as the live’Doily Diner’ shoot at a Belles Events fair and the ‘Colour Pop’ shoot at our own wedding fair in Chichester.

Lisa charges £120 + fabric costs for a bridesmaid dress and £700 + fabric costs for a wedding dress. We think this is incredible value for entirely bespoke bridal wear.
