Not Your Average Flowers

November 23, 2018 | News
The big news this month in the world of stylish Sussex weddings is that Not Your Average I Do are launching ‘Not Your Average Flowers’! It is a very exciting addition to their already large offering of styling services. Kelly, Director of NYA, says “Not Your Average Flowers perfectly complements our range of ceremony backdrops, table centres, arches and altars and our award-winning venue styling service. By asking Not Your Average I Do to style your venue and design your flowers, you can be assured that the floral design work will complement and flow from the bridal party to the venue styling effortlessly.”

Floral arrangements have always been a huge part of weddings as a whole, traditionally starting with the bridal bouquet. Now floral arrangements span from the ceremony decor and altar backdrops to the table centres and large ceiling installations. From a styling perspective it is imperative that the floral design flows effortlessly throughout the day. Not Your Average I Do felt it was the next natural step to offer this service to their clients.

In order to make this all possible they have teamed up with the extremely talented Lisa from Cabbage White Flowers, who is able to create buttonholes to bouquets, table centres to flower walls, floral arches to foliage displays… the possibilities are endless.

Both NYA and Lisa love floristry that is loose and natural with lots of foliage, so we feel this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership! Lisa is influenced by so many things; interiors, fashion, art and architecture. Lisa says, ” I think this reflects in my work and keeps my style fresh and original and that’s the reason it’s such a good fit for Not Your Average I Do!”

Both Lisa and Kelly’s favourite floral creations are large structural pieces that act as a focal point for the wedding day. It may be an arch, a chandelier or a backdrop but something that’s organic and natural and makes the best use of the flowers and foliage. Lisa tries not to have things too contrived and formal, preferring to let the shape and form of the flowers and foliage dictate and direct the shape of the finished piece. This works perfectly with NYA’s large range of alters, archways and backdrops.
