Looking for hen party inspiration? How about a weekend glamping with your best mates in retro vintage caravans with stunning views west to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons? The guys at Mad Dogs & Vintage Vans love hen parties. Whether you’re after a relaxed boho, festival-style affair, a vintage themed party or an adrenaline fuelled, action packed weekend, book the whole glampsite for a weekend you’ll never forget.
The site is ideally located for lots of fantastic group outdoor activities:
- Canoeing down the River Wye,
- Mountain biking in the Forest of Dean
- Gorge walking, aka scrambling up rocks and jumping off waterfalls
If you fancy something more low key you could take a leisurely 1.5 hour ramble along the River Wye to a beautiful secluded spot for a delicious picnic (all prepared and set up by the Mad Dog team) before returning to site to indulge in ‘Glamp n Pamp’ – holistic massage & reflexology treatments and rejuvenating facials with amazing therapist Flick. There’s also a tennis court on site if you fancy a game.
Check in on Friday is anytime from 1pm and you and your hens will have the run of the whole site til Monday morning so guests are free to stay as long as they like. We find that often a smaller group stays on for the Sunday night – the ‘after party’ if you will. A complimentary vintage cream tea party is included in all hen packages at a time to suit you.
Jo and Sacha who run the site love to cook and they offer everything from a continental breakfast and hangover brunch to a one pot campfire dinner and 3 course ‘wild dining’ extravaganza. The ‘wild dining’ is a popular option for the Saturday night. The evening begins with canapes served on the terrace of The Old Rectory, followed by a delicious feast in the atmospheric candlelit Mess Tent. All food is freshly made and where possible ingredients are sourced from the kitchen garden.
Jo and Sacha can book activities for you and map out the itinerary for your whole weekend if you’d like them to. Prices start at £150 per head (based on a minimum of 12 guests) and there are only a small number of weekends available this year so if you’re interested please get in touch asap. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Sacha on 07854 499 188.
Oh and guess what?.. They have a dog called Margot!
