There are some wedding traditions that have lasted through the ages – the rings, the cake, the dress… But perhaps it’s time to break the mould. Rosemary Jane Designs creates wedding dresses that are stylish and elegant, but also have that special something which sets them out among the crowd: splashes of colour, quirky designs, and unique details give these dresses an exciting twist and personality, the likes of which you won’t find on the high street.
2018 brings in a fresh range of nine designs for sale on Rosemary Jane Designs’ website, each one as stunning as the last. ‘Marguerite’ has been inspired by the character Odette/Odile from Swan Lake, and brings together gorgeous feathers, layers of lace, and a range of luxurious textures to form one beautiful dress. ‘Sophia’ is the epitome of grace, with lace sleeves, a dropped waistline, and contrasting fabrics which accentuate the feminine silhouette. ‘Hayley’ contrasts black with traditional ivory, the soft and lightweight material packing away perfectly for any brides planning to wed on more tropical shores.
Other designs include a bold keyhole back on an elegant 1930s style dress; gingham details on a rockabilly knee-length number; and an altered vintage dress with blue petticoat binding, matched perfectly with sequined Converse! These designs combine the classic beauty of the white wedding dress with a contemporary burst of flair and energy.
All of the designs on the website can be reproduced to your specifications, or you can commission your very own bespoke piece. Rosie will work with you to co-create a design which reflects your style and suits your needs. With years of experience in costume design, working on films like Cinderella, Dr. Strange and Snow White & the Huntsman, you know your dress is in good hands. Rosie began her company after her friends and family repeatedly asked for her help to design or alter their own gowns. As it was where her passions truly lay, she decided to make it her career. Her enthusiasm for working with her customers on their dresses certainly shines through her designs, which are so full of character.
When working with Rosie on your design, you have the chance to input your own ideas, and several fittings ensure your dress is perfect on the day. Being involved with the creation of your own wedding outfit is an enchanting experience, and leaves you with a glamourous dress you can truly call your own.
If you are searching for an opportunity to inject your personality into one of your most important wardrobe choices, look no further. You will be sure to turn heads in a dress from Rosemary Jane Designs.
Rosie can often be found at wedding fairs around the south. £100 vouchers for bespoke wedding dresses were on offer at the Cissbury House & Barns Spring 2018 Wedding Fair, so it is definitely worth trying to catch the next one! If not, you can book an appointment to see Rosie in her studio.
Oh, and did I mention, her mannequin is called Matilda and definitely has a cheeky side!
