Has anyone else noticed that weddings in France are a HOT topic right now? It may be because I’m just back from my best friend’s beautiful wedding in the French Alps, or it may be because I’m still obsessed with Channel 4’s Escape to the Chateau… but yes, I think weddings in France are trés en trend right now.
The Chateau Bee Selection
If you’re considering a wedding in France but don’t know where to start, fear not! Our advertisers The Chateau Bee Selection should definitely be your first port of call. They showcase handpicked wedding venues in France and you can browse online by region, party number and style (i.e. by the sea, vineyards, classic chateau etc).
If you fancy a wedding in France but aren’t sure which area to focus on, their comprehensive region guide is well worth checking out.
Only the best venues make it into the Selection, so all you have to worry about is which place best suits you.
The beauty of going through a company like this is they can offer advice, liaise with venues on your behalf and recommended local wedding planners/suppliers… and all this is entirely FREE to the couples!
The Chateau Bee Story
The Chateau Bee Selection is run by husband and wife team James and Ingrid who got married in France in 2013. They started their venue search around Ingrid’s home region of Brittany and they were amazed by how many stunning wedding venues there were. These venues were within easy reach of the UK but they were hard to find online for English speaking couples… and so The Chateau Bee Selection was born! After their wedding Ingrid and James travelled across France seeking out the very best wedding venues.
Their clients are busy international couples in search of venues with beautiful interiors and grounds and great service.
It’s like The Michelin Guide of wedding venues in France.
Why Choose A Wedding in France?
France offers such a diverse choice of surroundings, from rugged coastlines to sunny lavender fields and snow-capped mountains. By choosing a destination wedding you’re inviting your guests on a mini-break; an unforgettable experience featuring vineyards, charming French villages, chateaus with swimming pools and gastronomic delights (fromage, pain, vin and Michelin Star cuisine).
To me French weddings have a leisurely feel; wandering into the village for morning croissants, enjoying coffee in a cute pavement café, dining al fresco etc.
The phrase ‘LE RETOUR DE NOCES’ describes the tradition in France to get together the day after the wedding to enjoy food and company in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Besides her passion for weddings she loves tree cabins, vintage teapots, and learning new languages.
We have personally visited hundreds of wedding venues all across France and only choose the “crème de la crème” for our Selection.
