Taco Home Delivery Kits (Portsmouth)

Cooking and eating good food has become part of my lockdown routine, as has supporting local independent businesses who are stepping up and diversifying. So when I heard our advertiser Grate Catering & Events were offering taco delivery kits, I had to get involved!

I realise this delivery offering is very local to me in Portsmouth, and if your mouth is watering elsewhere… I’m sorry! But Norm and Iris offer event catering further afield, check out the recent Q&A we featured to get a better idea of them and their business.

My review:

My sister and I had been out for a walk with the kids, when we returned we found our kits waiting at our doorstep bursting with promise! The branded paper bags were full to bursting with goodies and it was clear how much thought and passion had gone into the prep, not only of the food but of the concept. It was a gorgeous sunny evening so we set the table outside, decanted everything into bowls, warmed the meat and tortillas according to the simple instructions and got stuck in! The portions were so generous. The beef and pablano chilli braised grass-fed beef blade was incredible and the salsas and salads were full of flavour. Deep fried crispy onions with lime and coriander offered the perfect crunchy topping and the burnt spring onion crema really was so imaginative and tasty. 10/10
