We’ll be back to two posts a week from next week! It’s all just been a bit crazy what with school starting and getting ready for The Boat Shed open day this weekend…
Here’s who you can expect to meet/appreciate their wares at The Boat Shed Open Day on Sunday (11am-3pm)
Elizabeth James Events
These guys are providing a neon sign and faux foliage wall for Sunday. We can’t wait to see it! Quite the statement piece. These guys are based locally and they have an extensive hire collection so they’re well worth checking out.
We’re so excited that Luminique Events are installing festoon lighting for the open day! Festoon lighting in a rustic venue like The Boat Shed is a no brainer. Eeeek, it’s going to look amazeballs.
The W Collection
Pippa is coming along with dining furniture – rustic trestle tables and ghost chairs – and a lounge set up. I can’t wait to see everything in place, Pippa has an amazing eye for interior design. We recently featured The W Collection on the blog so click HERE to read more about their offering.
Kieran has been a big part of The Boat Shed journey so far, we just love his bar, it looks awesome in the space. Effervesce Refreshments are one of our recommended bar suppliers.

Smell The Roses
Lula is just incredible, her display at our March wedding fair was mind-blowing. Her blooms are rustic and wild-looking so she was an obvious choice to be part of the open day. We can’t wait to see her flowers with the amazing furniture and tableware.
Freight Train Runners
Providing the soundtrack to the open day! We’re recently featured Freight Train Runners on the blog, so click HERE to read more about them and watch their videos.
Martha is the owners daughter, she will be playing the cello while the band break. A cellist is a lovely option to walk down the aisle to. We will have some lovely photos of her in situ after the weekend!
Ellen from Harriet’s Table has such an incredible collection of vintage plates and glassware. I love how she uses her collection of traditional pieces to give a really modern, fresh look. Her tableware is going to look great alongside Smell The Rose’s flowers and The W Collection’s furniture. Click HERE to read more about her on the blog.
Family Tree Ceremonies
The Boat Shed is not licensed for weddings so the legal bit needs to be done elsewhere. Diane Bell is a local celebrant who is joining us on the day. She will talk you through how a celebrant-led blessing could work in The Boat Shed. We have recently featured Family Tree Ceremonies on the blog so click HERE to read more about Diane.
Becky’s cakes are honestly A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. She provided the cake (and biscuits) for our kitsch, colourful photo shoot in March. Aren’t they incredible? She’ll be giving out samples on the day and you can chat to her about all things cake. Click HERE for a recent blog post about Hartt Cakes.

Weddings by Tom
Local photographer Tom Langford is one of our recommended suppliers. We love his work and we think his style fits really well for a boat shed wedding. He’ll be with us on the day, capturing the venue in all its glory, as well as the atmosphere that live music and visitors will create. Click HERE to read more about Tom on the blog (spoiler: he watches Casualty religiously every week).
Sparkling Events Hampshire
Love these guys! They provided a big 40 for my birthday last year (Smell the Roses did the balloons) and their SALT letters looked fab at our wedding fair in March. They also do flower walls and other hire items. Read about them on the blog.
Marcos is SUCH a boss! He’s a great guy. Quite a traditional wedding DJ who also provides photo booths and lighting. He’s providing some subtle lighting for Sunday. Even subtle touches like uplighters make a big difference to an event.
We are so looking forward to seeing everything come together on Sunday, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors. It’s a drop in event from 11am-3pm. I have one-to-one appointments scheduled throughout the day. I’m very busy but I have a few 15 minute slots left. If you’d like one please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
