Imagine how happy I was when Megan Metcalf AKA The House of Love Illustration contacted me at the beginning of the year and said she wanted to come and do some live drawings at my Boat Shed wedding fair. I love her work and was so touched she made the journey all the way from Margate.
Above are drawings she did on the day featuring The Curated Kitchen‘s exhibition stand. I guess the inviting grazing table of different colours and textures was the ideal still life!
The above drawings were also done on the day, featuring buoys within the alternative, nautical venue, bridal shoes from one of the exhibitors, and the fabulous paper flowers created by Petal & Bird.
Finally, Megan chose to draw a couple of the band members. Mister Kanish were performing on the day and they were amazing! It’s just a shame you can’t hear their quirky sound through these images…
About The Artist
Megan Metcalf creates beautiful, characterful live illustrations of your wedding. Just like a reportage photographer, she discreetly captures people, objects and moments that tell the story of your day. It’s a captivating way to not only entertain your guests, but also to have unique original works of art to treasure.
Megan draws approx 3-4 illustrations per hour and then adds water colour to the originals in her studio.
Post event, you get all the original drawings and access to high resolution files via an online gallery.
One couple chose to exhibit the drawings the next day at a post wedding brunch.
Previous clients have created thank you cards or had large format originals created from their favourite drawing.
Megan is based in Margate, Kent but travels all over. She loves wild ideas and seemingly impossible creative challenges.
