The Wonderous Wedding Fair 2018
It’s that time again! The Wonderous Wedding Fair has been happening at the Portsmouth Pyramids since 2016. It was previously organised by The Vintage Parade and… ME! But this year Alex is steering the ship alone. I wanted to work on some solo projects (such as my Worthing fair) but I’ll be there on Sunday 28th October helping Alex in whatever capacity she needs me!
The event is held in the large exhibition space at The Pyramids Centre in Southsea, Portsmouth. It’s a big blank canvas space allowing up to 40 exhibitors within the world of weddings. Expect an action-packed event with incredible exhibitors, live entertainment, workshops, alternative fashion shows and a pop-up tearoom.
The Wonderous Wedding Fair is no traditional affair, it’s designed to be a cool, quirky event for couples looking to do things in their own creative way. There are no stretchy chair covers, sugared almonds or limos in sight. Instead you’ll find the likes of Belles & Whistles with their flamboyant faux flower headpieces, Lo & Behold Bespoke with their modern boho props and styling, and Caked Away with an array of beautiful, decedent cakes… and lots more inspiration!
The tearoom this year is being run by Martha Holli’s so expect afternoon tea served on quintessential vintage crockery. The tearoom offers a great space to relax with friends and family, enjoy some refreshments, flick through mags (like Margot’s Wedding of course!) and discuss the exhibitors you’ve seen and how they could work with your event.
The fabulous Neptune Girls will be performing on stage as well as hosting a workshop, and there’s a Brush Lettering workshop with Little Old Goose too.
What are you waiting for? Put 28th October firmly in your diary, round up your girls and book your tickets. Entry is only £1.50 if you book in advance (£3 on the door) or why not splash out on VIP entry? It’s £8 and includes a goody bag and a cocktail.

The photos you see here were from a styled shoot organised by Alex, shot by Wayne Kahn and featuring suppliers who’ll be exhibiting at the event. I’m absolutely swooning over these images, not only because they’re taken in my hometown of Southsea (in some of my favourite spots such as the Hot Walls in Old Portsmouth) but the bold, quirky colours, alternative vibe of the models and stunning photography is right up my street and makes me very excited for the event!
See you there… I’ll be in my CHOOSE LOVE t-shirt…
