Wedding Industry Personal Branding Event

Back in February (when I still had a brain), I hosted a personal branding networking event with my good friends at Wagner Hall in Brighton.

My favourite small businesses are the ones where the owner’s personality shines through and I’m always interested to get to know the person behind the brand… which is why I do ‘supplier spotlight’ and Q&As with wedding suppliers on the blog. I want to know who they are, how they live, what inspires them. I want to know about their background, how they got started, what future plans they’ve got. Am I just plain nosey?

We need professional photos of ourselves for our website ‘about’ pages and our social media. I have a photo folder entitled ‘me’ on my computer and whenever I’m in the vicinity of a professional tog (at wedding fairs/shoots etc) I will always try and get a cheeky shot to update my folder (yes I am a massive narcissist).

I’m aware that not everyone finds themselves in the presence of professional photographers as often as I do so I wanted to put on an event that combined professional head shots, general networking with like-minded wedding industry folk… and we threw in an SEO talk and venue tour for good measure. Penny from Wagner is an SEO whizz and the venue really does offer an amazing blank canvas for weddings, right in the centre of Brighton (you can even put up a tipi in their Fig Tree Garden). Read more about the venue HERE.

Kerry from Brandy Snap was our photographer on the day. Kerry’s wedding business is Teddy Pig Photography and she’s amazing at what she does. I’ve loved working with Kerry over the last few years (she even shot my 40th birthday party!)

It was a lovely morning with plenty of coffee, sweet treats, connections and knowledge. We had a great mix of wedding suppliers including a musician, jeweller, baker, photographer, hair stylist and caterer.

When life gets back to some semblance of normality I hope to host another personal branding event. I miss my wedding industry friends!

Big love
